Payments · Store owners with an eSewa merchant account
Connect eSewa online payment
Add your eSewa merchant credentials, enable checkout and verify a complete payment before accepting customer orders.
Before you begin
- An approved eSewa merchant relationship for ePay
- The merchant code and secret key supplied for your merchant integration
- A published product you can use for a controlled test
Follow these steps
- 1
Obtain merchant credentials
Complete eSewa’s merchant onboarding and obtain the production merchant code and secret key. A personal wallet or QR alone is not an ePay merchant integration.
- 2
Open payment methods
In MeroByapaar, open Payments, select Payment methods and find eSewa online payment.
- 3
Enter the credentials
Choose Manage eSewa, enter the merchant code and secret key exactly as issued, and enable eSewa at checkout.
- 4
Save securely
Save the settings. MeroByapaar stores the secret encrypted and does not display it again. A saved status confirms configuration, not a live gateway approval.
- 5
Run an end-to-end test
Open the public store, place a controlled order and complete the eSewa redirect. Confirm the final payment status in MeroByapaar before treating it as paid.
- 6
Begin accepting payments
Once the test amount, order reference and payment status all agree, keep eSewa enabled and monitor the first real transactions closely.
Verify before going live
Completion checklist
- □Checkout offers eSewa only after configuration
- □The customer is redirected to an official eSewa payment page
- □The order returns with a verified payment result
- □The amount and order reference match in both systems
If something is not working
The payment method says Needs attention
Confirm the merchant code is present, enter the secret again if none is saved, tick Enable eSewa at checkout and save.
The customer paid but the order is not verified
Do not fulfil yet. Compare the transaction in the eSewa merchant portal and contact support with the MeroByapaar order reference—but never include the secret key.
