Connect a custom domain to MeroByapaar

Point a .com.np or another domain you own to your MeroByapaar storefront without losing your permanent store address.

By MeroByapaar7 minute guide

Before you begin

  • An active plan that includes custom-domain connection
  • A registered domain you control
  • Access to the DNS provider for that domain

Follow these steps

  1. 1

    Open the domain workspace

In your seller workspace, open Settings, choose the Domains tab and select Connect a personal domain.

  2. 2

    Enter only the hostname

Enter a hostname such as shop.example.com or example.com. Do not include https://, a page path or spaces.

  3. 3

    Copy the requested DNS records

MeroByapaar will show the exact verification and routing records for your domain. Keep this page open.

  4. 4

Add records at your DNS provider

Open the company that manages DNS for your domain and add every record exactly as displayed. In many DNS panels, @ means the root domain.

  5. 5

    Check the connection

Return to MeroByapaar and choose Check status or Verify. DNS updates can take time to spread, so a pending state immediately after editing is normal.

  6. 6

    Test the secure address

When the status is Live, open the custom address and test a product and checkout page. HTTPS is issued automatically after verification.

Verify before going live

Completion checklist

  • □The domain status says Live
  • □The address opens over HTTPS
  • □Product and checkout pages remain on the intended domain
  • □The permanent MeroByapaar store address still works

If something is not working

The domain stays pending

Compare the host, type and value character-for-character. Remove conflicting A or CNAME records for the same host, but leave mail records untouched.

The registry only asks for nameservers

Use a DNS hosting provider first, set that provider’s nameservers at the registry, and then add MeroByapaar’s records in the DNS provider.
