Domains · Nepali people and businesses that need a .com.np domain
Register a free .com.np domain
Prepare the correct documents, request an eligible .com.np name from Nepal’s official registry and keep control of its DNS.
Before you begin
- A domain name closely connected to your legal name, company, product, service or registered brand
- Clear identity or organization documents
- A working email address you will retain
Follow these steps
- 1
Check name eligibility
Search the desired name at Nepal’s official .np registry. Enter the name without www, https:// or the extension.
- 2
Create and verify your registry account
Use the real domain owner’s name and a long-term email address, then complete email verification.
- 3
Prepare the right evidence
For a personal request, use an accepted identity document and a name-based domain. For a business request, prepare the applicable registration, PAN or Nepal trademark evidence.
- 4
Write the request letter when required
For an organization, prepare the official request on letterhead with the authorized signature and stamp. Make the requested domain and applicant details unambiguous.
- 5
Submit readable files
Complete the registry form and upload clear, complete documents within the file requirements shown by the registry.
- 6
Set nameservers and wait for review
Use nameservers from the DNS service you plan to control. Review can take several business days and may take longer when the registry has a backlog.
- 7
Connect it to your store
After approval, follow the MeroByapaar custom-domain guide and add the records shown in your seller workspace.
Verify before going live
Completion checklist
- □The registry lists you or your organization as the owner
- □The domain status is approved rather than pending or reverification
- □You can access the domain’s DNS management
- □Owner and contact email details are current
If something is not working
The request was rejected
Read the registry’s stated reason. Common causes include an unrelated name, missing applicant details, unreadable documents, or a missing request letter.
The domain is in reverification
Sign in to the official registry and follow the reverification request shown there before changing the store connection.
